REBUILDING COMPANIES IN MANUFACTURING

2015 TO 2022, OWN COMPANY

Lenomi, technical wholesaler

  • Efficient online shop without its own stock, one of the first in the Netherlands
  • Each order automatically becomes a purchase order; the supplier delivers directly
  • Invoicing through Exact Online, dealer for several brands
  • WebwinkelKeur since 2017, score 9.8
  • Projects: 5,000 cargo tubes for DFDS, V-blocks with Stellite

2018 TO 2022, TECHNICAL MANAGER

De Zwaan Metaal, Dordrecht

  • New machine layout, three lathes replaced by one Doosan SMX 3100 with a robot cell
  • Designed the robot cell and pallet changer myself, production 24/7
  • Cycle time down from an hour and a half to 9 to 12 minutes (source: Solutions Magazine 4/2021)
  • Introduced CAD/CAM with hyperMILL
  • New ERP: Exact Online live in early 2019
  • Customer portal Zwaan Online, linked to the ERP

2022 TO 2024, PROJECT MANAGER

Lagersmit, Alblasserdam

  • Assembly: new mezzanine floor, cranes from two to four
  • Warehouse: new layout, three Hänel lifts, rebuilt while deliveries carried on
  • WMS implemented in the ERP system ISAH
  • More capacity for a fast-growing company
  • Five- and ten-year plan: robots, AGVs, automated warehouse

From website to ERP with automated bookkeeping

  • Customer portal with quotes, invoices, tickets and time tracking
  • Online shop platform for multiple shops, with a VAT engine and VIES check, payments through Mollie
  • Websites and a marketing app in which the customer publishes their own content
  • My own accounts entirely in the ERP: journal, chart of accounts, tax, hours, commitments
  • Runs on my own servers in the Netherlands, with daily backups

ERP for a machine builder with customers worldwide

  • Contacts, items, warehouse and stock counts, purchasing, sales, production, planning
  • Ticket system linked to the mailbox; AI looks up the customer, product and earlier tickets
  • Service app for engineers: works offline, signature, report, invoice based on actual use
  • Ordering assistant that prepares order suggestions and purchase orders per supplier
  • Link to the accounting system (Twinfield), two-factor authentication, installable as an app

SOFTWARE THAT TAKES OVER THE READING

Liftbase AI: the whole fleet in view through its invoices

  • The customer uploads invoices and work orders, also as a photo or scan
  • AI reads them, recognises the machine and books the costs to the right maintenance record
  • Maintenance costs per machine and per operating hour, compared across the fleet
  • Inspections recognised on the invoice, with a warning 60, 30 and 7 days in advance
  • Five languages, separate environments per customer

2026, INSTALLATION COMPANY IN DORDRECHT

Management assistant that reads along and prepares

  • Reads the management's mailbox, summarises and prepares draft replies
  • Keeps the calendar and action list up to date; a briefing every morning, a report every month
  • Assistant in Telegram: voice messages and photos of business cards and type plates become records in the ERP
  • Maintains the business system: updates contacts, quotes and invoices
  • Prepares, never sends on its own: a person confirms every action

MY OWN WAY OF WORKING

Agency

An app of my own in which I put together a team of AI agents for each project, each with its own role. One agent is the manager: it divides the work, oversees the chain and is my only point of contact. That way I run a whole company from a single conversation.

  • Roles: manager, developer, tester, designer, marketer, reporting, lawyer, bookkeeper
  • Fixed chains for new features, bugs, content and bookkeeping
  • Stop rules: anything that cannot be undone waits for a person
  • Three fixed moments a day when I answer the teams' questions
  • Controlled through a dashboard, Telegram, a keypad and my watch
  • In use since August 2026 for my own company and for clients
  • Now 110 agents at work in 20 projects (as of November 2026)

"Technology should work for you"

In 2021 Solutions Magazine, the trade magazine for machining, wrote about the project I led as technical manager at De Zwaan Metaal. Three lathes made way for one multitasking machine with robot loading, CAM programming was centralised and the online shop Zwaan Online was added. The cycle time went from an hour and a half to 9 to 12 minutes.
